Christine Peterson, MSW, PCSW

Hello! I am a Provisionally Licensed Social Worker. I earned my Master of Social Work degree from Louisiana State University in May 2024. I have completed the foundational skills training for Synergetic Play Therapy and am pursuing my full certification. I offer Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) to support healing and growth. I enjoy working with a variety of ages, including adults. I use a nervous system lens to make sense of all behavior. My passion lies in teaching clients how to use the power of their own nervous system to regulate and move through past trauma to allow for healing and growth.

I have lived in Green River for over twenty years with my husband and four children. My family is growing, as my eldest son recently married. In the warm months you can find me on a paddle board or just enjoying the sunshine on a walk with my dog Bailey. All year long you can find me on a yoga mat instructing and practicing the art of mind body awareness.

As a parent that would like some therapeutic support on your journey, you can expect to meet with me for an intake to explore how your child could benefit from play therapy and what goals are needed for emotional growth. I will then introduce your child into our play space, full of possibilities for emotional expression and support. Your child will direct the play in ways that facilitate their own needs and felt experience. I use my knowledge of the nervous system and mirror neuron system to model emotional regulation and in turn widening the child’s window of tolerance. I will meet with caregivers along the process to work hand in hand towards meeting family goals and giving parental support.

As a teen or adult that would like therapeutic support, I will offer mindful tools to use outside of session. In session, I will use thought work and ART to process past trauma and difficult experiences.  I use my yoga experience and somatic work to help clients learn how to listen to what is needed to heal and grow.
